Kurt Johnson is Director of Human Resources for BendixKing. He leads the organization in all aspects of HR, but with particular emphasis in areas of Talent Development, Staffing, Organizational Design, Culture and Communications. Additionally, he drives key initiatives across the Electronic Solutions business within the greater Honeywell Aerospace organization.

Before joining BendixKing, Kurt was the HR Site Leader for Honeywell’s Lighting business in Urbana, Ohio. His HR team partnered with site leadership across two sites in areas of Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Materials Management, and Repair and Overhaul to drive key improvements in site performance. In this role, his team supported over 800 employees in lean manufacturing initiatives that led to the sites successful Bronze certification, major improvements to past-due burn down, and significant increases to on-time deliveries.

Prior to Honeywell, Kurt worked for Citigroup in New York and Delaware where he held roles of increasing scope in Citi’s Transaction Services business, Consumer Credit Card business, Retail Banking business and Executive Compensation function.

Kurt started his HR career in China where he worked for Beijing United Family Hospital and managed HR efforts to support the Hospitals successful accreditation within JCIA. He developed HR policy and Managed training efforts for the organization. He later served as Director of Human Resources for LanguageCalls Ltd., a start-up venture also in Beijing where he recruited and trained more than 20 language educators from over a dozen countries and established pay policies and mechanisms to support a healthy pipeline of global instructors. He was responsible for oversight of the finance function, investor relations, and policy development for the new business also. He achieved a basic level of proficiency in spoken Chinese during his tenure there.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Brigham Young University and holds a Master’s in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
