BendixKing Exclusive Distributor for ACSS ADS-B Out

BendixKing Exclusive Distributor for ACSS ADS-B Out

BendixKing, a wholly owned subsidiary of Honeywell (NYSE: HON) and ACSS have reached an agreement wherein BendixKing will be the exclusive distributor of the MST 70B transponder to the business jet and military market. The transponder, which is also available to general aviation pilots and operators, is the lightest and lowest-power Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast Out (ADS-B Out) compliant technology available today. The upgraded transponder increases safety by transmitting important satellite-based information about the aircraft.

In addition to business jet and military exclusivity, BendixKing has also received expanded European and Canadian validations of its MST 70B transponder. The new technology has received supplemental type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and expanded its international validation to include Canadian and European airspace. This means operators using the current MST 67A hardware can now easily upgrade to a newer model that is ADS-B Out compliant.

The MST 70B is designed for a quick slide-in installation by using existing MST 67A mounting racks and connectors, limiting aircraft downtime and increasing savings during installation. The technology is also a compatible retrofit for legacy BendixKing MST 67A transponders that are installed in Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance Systems in the most popular business legacy aircraft, including Bombardier, Textron, Dassault, Gulfstream, Learjet, Boeing Defense, Beechcraft, Saab and Sabreliner.

The FAA estimates there are 20,731 turbine-powered general aviation aircraft that regularly fly in the National Airspace System that will need to be equipped with transponders by the 2020 deadline. Operators can avoid unnecessary aircraft grounding with the quick and efficient MST 70B transponder retrofit. The BendixKing MST 70B is available for installation at any Honeywell or BendixKing dealer. It is also available as a retrofit option through the Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan program.
