Step Up to AeroVue Avionics from BendixKing

Step Up to AeroVue Avionics from BendixKing

BendixKing is making it easier than ever for Beechcraft King Air and Cessna Citation owners and operators to step up to the AeroVue Integrated Flight Deck. AeroVue delivers new levels of performance, reliability and ease-of-use to improve flight safety and efficiency.

At this year’s National Business Aviation Association Convention and Exhibition, BendixKing announced an agreement with Blackhawk Modification to add the AeroVue upgrade as part of the Phoenix by Blackhawk program for the King Air B200. Under a new supplemental type certificate, Blackhawk will upgrade the King Air B200 avionics system at the same time it replaces the aircraft engines and performs other upgrades and modifications. This will add the AeroVue system to Blackhawk’s other approved avionics platforms for the Blackhawk modifications. The initial AeroVue installation will take place at Stevens Aviation at their Dayton, Ohio installation center.

Also at the October NBAA event, BendixKing announced that the Cessna Citation 560 V, Ultra and Encore models are the most recent aircraft that will be certified for AeroVue glass-cockpit installation. The Citation 560 models Excel and XLS are included in the roadmap. BendixKing is working with Chippewa Aerospace to develop a new supplemental type certificate covering the upgrade. Bringing AeroVue to these Citation 560 models allows owners the opportunity to replace aging avionics and provides a complete glass cockpit retrofit option that was previously unavailable for this aircraft. Certification of AeroVue on the Citation 560 is anticipated in the second quarter of 2019.

“We’re excited about these agreements that will bring the many benefits of the AeroVue Integrated Flight Deck to more operators than ever before,” said Stephane Fymat, vice president, Product Management & Marketing for BendixKing.

“AeroVue replaces the current Cessna Citation 560 and King Air B200 avionics suites with a sophisticated avionics platform that adds both value and new capabilities,” he added. “AeroVue brings features and technologies developed for business jets and transport-category aircraft and optimizes that technology and user experience for these venerable platforms.”

The AeroVue retrofit includes two primary flight displays, one for the pilot and the co-pilot, and, depending upon the application, either a single shared multi-function display or dual multifunction displays. It also comes with the industry-leading SmartView synthetic vision system, flight management system, radios, ADS-B compliant transponder and autopilot. It has options for weather radar, XM weather receiver, radar altimeter, traffic alert and ground proximity warning.

BendixKing is a wholly-owned division of Honeywell Aerospace and leverages Honeywell’s entire portfolio of technology and engineering resources, in addition to its own team of engineers, to develop new products and services.
